Discovery plus

The newly launched on-demand service from Discovery extends its reach across more devices in the UK.

Discovery+ is available on all Samsung Smart TVs from 2017 onwards, where it can be found as a featured app. On new TVs going forward, the app will be pre-installed.

On Fire TV devices, discovery+ can be downloaded from the App Store. The voice control instruction is “Alexa, open discovery plus”.

The factual and sports streaming service combines live and on-demand content from all of Discovery’s free and premium channels, except currently Eurosport. Since launching last autumn, the service has rapidly expanded to new devices, including Sky Q and Roku. Discovery+ replaced dplay.

Content from Quest, Quest Red, DMAX, Food Network, HGTV and Really is available for free, but for full access to all programmes, including discovery+ originals, a monthly subscription of £4.99 is due. A special £1 introductory offer is live until the end of February, giving subscribers a discounted first month.
