FreeSports joins Samsung TV platform

9 December 2021

Sports broadcaster FreeSports has now arrived on Samsung’s TV Plus platform, opening up the service to Samsung smart TV and mobile users in the UK.

FreeSports can be found in the sports section, or by selecting channel 4054 on compatible Samsung smart TVs. Selected Samsung mobile users can also access TV Plus channels including FreeSports via the ‘Samsung Free’ app on certain Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

The launch on Samsung TV Plus comes ahead of its free-to-air coverage of Probellum Revolution on the 11th December.

The arrival on TV Plus will interest viewers with a Freesat-compatible Samsung Smart TV who had previously lost access to FreeSports on Freesat, but who can now access it through TV Plus instead.

FreeSports is also available on Freeview channel 64 in some areas only. It’s also on Sky (channel 422) and Virgin Media (channel 553). A live stream is available at www.freesportsplayer.tv.

About Samsung TV Plus

Samsung TV Plus is a service providing additional live channels to Samsung device owners via the internet. The channels are free and supported through advertising. On Samsung Smart TV’s, these channels appear on channel 4000 and upwards. A minimum download speed of 10Mbps is recommended for the service to work on smart TVs.

Channel numbers below 4000 are reserved for traditional terrestrial and/or satellite services. Samsung smart TVs connected to a TV aerial will display Freeview channels between channels 1-999. TVs with in-built satellite receiver will show Freesat channels in the lower channel range.
