New FAST channels have gone live for users of Samsung smart TVs and viewers with a compatible connected Freeview TV.
For Samsung users, a new channel about the future of the planet is now live on TV Plus channel 4382. WaterBear Network produces original content, spanning biodiversity, community, circularity, climate action and sustainable fashion.
The recently launched Guardian TV channel is also now available on TV Plus channel 4011. The channel features documentaries and video journalism from The Guardian.
TV Plus channel 4001 is the home of shows including the latest series of American Idol on Samsung’s new Entertainment Hub channel.

Meanwhile, the Channelbox portal on Freeview channel 271 has added Arabic entertainment TV channels Rotana Cinema and Rotana Khalijia. Both channels offer content from a library of Arabic movies, series and general entertainment programmes. The additions follow hot on the heels of a revamp of the Channelbox platform, which includes a variety of services from around the world.
Channelbox is available on all smart TVs that support Freeview Play. Availability is subject to local Freeview coverage, in order to access the portal on channel 271.
Niche broadcasters are rapidly turning to Free, Ad-Supported Television (FAST) channels to deliver services to connected devices. Not only are they cheaper to operate, they also sidestep traditional TV platforms and regulatory processes.
