Unlimited streaming: Vodafone gives away free mobile data

23 June 2022

Imagine if you could stream as many movies or music videos without exceeding your mobile data. On Sunday, Vodafone is making this possible with free unlimited data for all customers.

The mobile company is giving away data to mark the UK’s first ever ‘Celebration Day’. Unlimited data will be available from midnight Sunday 26th June until 23:59 on all consumer price plans including Pay As You Go, Pay Monthly or VOXI. Business price plans are excluded.

Celebration Day will be an annual event and is “about celebrating life and love, and legacies that are positive, inspiring and enriching”. Celebrities such as Stephen Fry, Richard E Grant, Prue Leith, Lennie James, Anya Hindmarch, Helena Bonham Carter, Jamie Oliver, Gemma Arterton, Harriet Walter and River Medway will also lend their support to the day, with some posting their own stories of how they’ll remember and celebrate their loved ones.

You can’t use the unlimited data while roaming and you need to be with Vodafone or VOXI, not a third-party operator that uses Vodafone’s network.

Unluckily for anyone already on an unlimited price plan, there will be no alternative offer.

But Vodafone does warn users that any mobile data session that starts before midnight won’t count. Switching airplane mode on/off will ensure you start a new mobile data session.

Max Taylor, Consumer Director at Vodafone UK, said:

“Taking time out of our busy lives to remember and celebrate those who are no longer with us is really important, especially after what has been an incredibly challenging two years.

Celebration Day is the perfect opportunity for people to connect with loved ones to celebrate those who they have lost and we’re happy to be able to make that connection easier for our customers.”
