Sky subscribers can now access a high definition version of the factual entertainment channel Yesterday.
Sky is the first provider to offer the Yesterday channel in HD. Operated by UKTV, the channel is best known for its range of historical and engineering-related documentaries. This includes re-runs of Michael Portillo’s popular Great British and Great Continental Railway Journeys. Yesterday also has a growing number of original productions which have been credited for increasing its audience share. Originals include car auction show Bangers and Cash and Secrets of the London Underground.
How to watch Yesterday in HD
- Yesterday HD is available on Sky Q and Sky HD channel 155 where it has replaced the standard definition (SD) copy.
- The SD version of Yesterday is now available on channel 846.
- On Sky Glass, Yesterday HD is now available on channel 162.
Yesterday joins sister channels Alibi, Dave, Gold and W in being available in high definition on Sky’s TV platforms. Only Drama and Eden remain SD only.
While Yesterday SD is free-to-air and available on all major TV platforms, Yesterday HD is part of a Sky TV subscription. Similar arrangements also exist for other HD channels that are free-to-air in standard definition only, such as ITV 2 HD, E4 HD and Dave HD.
Yesterday’s programmes are also available on-demand through UKTV Play. UKTV Play is free to use, but requires user registration.
