Between 2017 and 2020, viewers in most regions were required to retune Freeview to continue receiving all available channels.
This was due to a series of frequency changes, designed to move TV services out of frequencies that are to be auctioned off for 5G services.
The final region – North West England – was completed in August 2020.
While the schedule of regional Freeview retunes has now been completed, there will be further national retune days for Freeview users whenever there are changes to channels on Freeview and when the temporary national multiplex COM7 is closed.
The next national Freeview channel change day is Wednesday 26th January 2022. This involves a channel numbering change. No frequencies are changing.
