ITV is showing live Six Nations Rugby, La Liga football and the Super Bowl across either ITV1 or ITV4 this February.
But viewers can also choose to live stream coverage via ITVX, which has continued its rollout across devices since the end of the FIFA Men’s World Cup. However, not every device that’s received the update to ITVX can also access live streams.
On which devices can I stream live sport on ITV1 and ITV4?
ITVX only includes the live TV feature on the following devices:
- Amazon Fire TV
- Android mobile (version 5.0 and higher)
- Android TV*
- Apple TV (tvOS 12.2 or higher)
- Freesat (some devices only, older devices not compatible, but you can still watch ITV channels from the main channel list instead of via the app),
- iOS for iPhones and iPad (OS 12.2 or higher)
- Now & Roku streaming players,
- Samsung Smart TVs,
- Sky Glass
- Sky Stream (puck),
- Virgin Media (excluding TiVo)
- Website (itv.com)
- Xbox One/S/X and Xbox Series X/S.
*If your Android TV also includes Freeview Play, then the ITVX app will not include live streams. You can access ITV1 and ITV4 on the Freeview TV guide (see below).
Are all programmes live streamed?
ITV may not have the rights to stream all programmes. A message will pop up where this is the case. The vast majority of sports coverage on ITV will be live streamed on ITVX, including Six Nations Rugby and La Liga.
If you have entered a postcode that is in Central or Northern Scotland, you’ll need to visit the STV Player to live stream sport that is shown on ITV1 in the rest of the UK.
Where is the live stream option in ITVX?
There is a dedicated Live section in the main menu. On the website this is found along the top of the page. On mobile and tablet apps, there is a live tab along the bottom. Meanwhile, on some connected TVs the menu is along the left hand side.
If the live option/tab is missing, then it’s likely ITVX live streams are not available on your device. You can only access on-demand/catch-up content.
Many of the devices that don’t offer live streams will allow you to access the main ITV channels through your main channel list.
Where can I find ITV channels on my main channel list?

Can I watch coverage in the Republic of Ireland?
You will need to manually tune your satellite receiver to watch coverage on ITV1 or ITV4. You can find manual tuning parameters here.
