Freeview Updates

Keep up-to-date with the latest Freeview channel updates with an overview of the latest changes and retune events.

  • Channel availability is subject to location and equipment.
  • Older Freeview TVs and boxes may not be able access some channels.
  • Some changes take place with little or no notice. Unless there’s a holiday or major event, Freeview monthly updates are on the third Wednesday of the month. This page is usually updated within 72 hours of a change.

Each set of changes is categorised by date and type.

You’ll find the Freeview channel number and name next to the Multiplex name [in square brackets]. Notes about reception/type of channel follow. DVB-T2 receivers only means older receivers can’t access the channel. Streaming channels require internet access.

  • 287: Nolly Africa streaming channel [COM4/SDN]

Multiplex change

You may need to retune to reinstate this channel in your channel list.

  • 264: Alaraby Network moves from COM4/SDN to Comux/Local. (reduced UK coverage; some viewers may no longer be able to access this channel)

No longer available

  • 733: TWR has been delisted after ceasing broadcasts at the end of March. [COM5/ArqA]

Local changes

  • 7: Sheffield Live rebrands as That’s TV (Sheffield area only)
  • 7: NVTV rebrands as That’s TV (Belfast area only)

  • 257: Euronews streaming channel [COM4/SDN]
  • 285: Trace UK streaming channel [Local/Comux]
  • 286: It Is Written streaming channel [Local/Comux]

Multiplex change

You may need to retune to reinstate this channel in your channel list.

  • 69: LEGEND XTRA moves from Comux/Local to BBC-B/PSB3. (DVB-T2 receivers only.)

Channel number changes

  • 92: Rewind TV moves from 95 [COM6/ArqB]
  • 94: SonLife moves from 96 [COM5/ArqA]

The following additional changes apply to viewers in Manchester only for channels broadcasting on the G_MAN multiplex.

  • 85: That’s TV2 MCR moves from 86
  • 86: That’s TV MCR moves from 87
  • 87: TV Warehouse moves from 88
  • 88: TV Warehouse+1 moves from 92.

  • 5: Channel 5 [PSB2/D3&4] changes to 5
  • 38: Channel 5+1 [COM4/SDN] changes 5+1
  • 105: Channel 5 HD [PSB3/BBCB] changes to 5 HD

  • 212: POP+1 streaming [Local/Comux]. Only available in areas served by a local TV service on channel 7 or 8.

  • 268: 3ABN streaming channel moves from COM4/SDN to Local/Comux (reduced UK coverage; some viewers may no longer be able to access this channel)
  • 269: New Media TV streaming channel moves from Local/Comux to COM4/SDN (increased UK coverage; some viewers will gain access to this channel)

  • 86: That’s TV 2 MCR [G_MAN] has moved from channel 87 to 86. (Manchester only)
  • 87: That’s Christmas MCR [G_MAN] has moved from channel 88 to 87. (Manchester only)

Channel name changes

  • 71: That’s TV3 changes to That’s Christmas [PSB2/D3&4]. Also on relays.

  • 74: U&Yesterday+1 has been deleted from Freeview [COM6/ArqB]
  • 235: Al Jazeera Eng has been deleted from Freeview [COM6/ArqB]. The channel continues streaming-only on channel 251.
  • 269: Amazing Discoveries has been deleted from Freeview [COM4/SDN]
