Whether it’s to catch up with news from an area you have links to, or to watch a programme or sports coverage only shown in some parts of the UK, RXTV will show you how to access the BBC’s regional services. Our guide covers Sky, Freesat, Virgin Media, Freeview, YouView and online/mobile apps.

Sky satellite
On Sky, BBC Nations and Regions can be accessed from the channel list, regardless of where you are in the UK. The following table will show you where to find each service.
If you are watching from the Republic of Ireland, only the Northern Irish version of BBC services is available on Sky. You’ll need to manually tune your Sky receiver to add any other BBC region.

If you use Sky Glass, different channel numbers apply and you’ll only be able to receive BBC Scotland and BBC Alba out of region. Otherwise, BBC One and BBC Two is your region only.
Freesat
On Freesat, BBC Nations and Regions can be accessed from the channel list, regardless of where you are in the UK. The following table will show you where to find each service.

Virgin Media UK
On Virgin Media, it is possible to access the BBC Nations via cable. The following table will show you where to find these services. In some areas of England, Virgin Media also makes your neighbouring BBC region available on channel 858.

Freeview or YouView (BT/TalkTalk)
On Freeview and YouView it is normally only possible to receive another BBC region if you live in an area that receives signals from more than one region. In that case, you’ll see one regional version of BBC One on channel 1 and another regional version in the 800 channel range.
Otherwise, you can access other BBC regions using the iPlayer app built in to all Freeview Play and YouView receivers. This option is not available on older Freeview receivers.
If you want to watch a live stream of BBC One or BBC Two for a different nation/region:
On the BBC iPlayer TV app, you can change your location by going to Settings. Then select Change Location. You’ll see a list of the available BBC Nations and Regions. Once you have changed these settings, when you select BBC One, for example, you’ll get the version of BBC One for the nation/region you’ve selected.
If you want to watch BBC Scotland or BBC Alba
There is no need to make any changes to the settings. Both channels are available UK wide. You’ll find them listed in the channels area of the iPlayer.
Online (including mobile app)
If you want to watch a live stream of BBC One or BBC Two for a different nation/region:
On the BBC iPlayer website on your computer, mobile or tablet, go to the Change Location option. It is located at the bottom left of the BBC iPlayer page. You’ll see a list of the available BBC Nations and Regions. Once you have changed these settings, when you select BBC One, for example, you’ll get the version of BBC One for the nation/region you’ve selected.
On mobiles and tablets, you can change your location by going to Settings and selecting Change Location. Once you have changed these settings, when you select BBC One, for example, you’ll get the version of BBC One for the nation/region you’ve selected.
If you want to watch a regional programme on-demand
There is no need to make changes to the settings. You can search for regional programmes in the iPlayer search tool.
If you want to watch BBC Scotland or BBC Alba
Both channels are available UK wide. You’ll find them listed in the channels area of the iPlayer.
