Pitaara joins Freeview streaming service

Two Punjabi channels from Pitaara have joined the ensemble of services available on the Freeview Channelbox portal.

  • Available on Freeview Play devices on channel 271.

Channelbox has confirmed the addition of services from Pitaara on its hybrid streaming portal.

Pitaara Movies is a Punjabi movie channel promoting Punjabi Cinema & the Entertainment Industry. As well as huge offering of Punjabi movies, Pitaara offers a complete package of entertainment with music, and celebrity chit-chat shows featuring all the who’s who of the Punjabi entertainment industry.

Pitaara Comedy complements Pitaara Movies with its humorous and engaging programming, promising laughter and enjoyment.

Channelbox is currently available on Freeview channel 271. The portal also contains a range of other international, music, news and specialist channels, giving access to over 70 extra channels via streaming. On Freely, viewers who use an aerial to access extra channels can find Channelbox on 561. The hybrid streaming services works by sending an app over the airwaves that directs TVs to the internet portal.

In addition to Channelbox, Sky UK satellite viewers can access Pitaara on channel 766.

Broadcast changes

The following channel has switched from terrestrial broadcast to HbbTV hybrid streaming.

  • 205: POP [COM4/SDN]

The existing terrestrial linear broadcast of POP is closing and moves to channel 790 [COM6/ArqB] following a retune.

Multiplex change

Depending on your device, you may need to retune to continue watching this channel. It may be longer available in your area.

  • 287: Nolly Africa Hybrid streaming channel moves from COM4/SDN to Local/Comux.
