Virgin Media viewers gain 11 new channels, but lose one

1 May 2024
  • New streaming services go live on Virgin’s TV list in the UK

New services from UKTV, A+E Networks, Trace and Stingray now available on Virgin Media’s TV service.

They include the four new UKTV streaming channels that first launched on some platforms last year, bringing audiences extra content previously shown on channels including Dave and Yesterday. A+E Networks UK, the broadcaster behind the Blaze TV channel has launched its History Hunters and Deal Masters channel on Virgin.

The streaming services are available at no extra cost. The channels are not available to viewers with an older TiVo box.

As part of the new channel line-up, Virgin TV customers gain access to the following new channels:

  • 227 UKTV Play Uncovered
  • 228 UKTV Play Heroes
  • 229 UKTV Play Full Throttle
  • 234 History Hunters
  • 235 Real Crime
  • 238 Real Life
  • 241 UKTV Play Laughs
  • 254 Deal Masters
  • 298 Zen Life
  • 299 Qello Concerts by Stingray
  • 557 Trace Sports Stars

These are just the latest in a series of new Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV (FAST) channel launches since Virgin Media opened up its TV Guide to streaming channels last year.

As planned, news and opinion channel TalkTV has now been removed from Virgin Media. TalkTV had been available on channel 606.

David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, commented:

“The introduction of these fantastic new streaming channels demonstrates our ambition to continue enhancing our entertainment offering, giving our customers even more choice and 24/7 access to their favourite shows. Having launched 30 streaming channels in the last year alone, we are constantly striving to offer our customers even more entertainment, providing them with easy access to shows we know they’ll love, at no extra cost.”The new additions to Virgin Media’s TV line up can be found on the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) and come as part of the company’s expanding FAST channel offering. Virgin Media O2 added it will continue to evolve its FAST channel offering, that will provide customers with even greater choice, at no extra cost.
