From Wednesday 7th January, ITVX users will be able to access an additional selection of Disney shows, beginning with FX’s The Bear.
It’s part of a deal between ITV and Disney, first announced in the summer. As a result, Disney gets to stream a selection of ITV shows on its streaming service in return for a selection of Disney shows coming to ITVX.
Under the terms of the deal, ITVX has already welcomed shows including Marvel’s Hawkeye and Black-ish. Ahead of Christmas, ITVX has just added Limitless with Chris Hemsworth and High School Musical The Series.
In 2026, ITV will upload more Disney+ content, including Ed Sheeran’s tell-all documentary The Sum of it All and Marvel Studios She-Hulk. In March, ITVX users will see what happened next to the characters in The Full Monty, in a series set 25 years after the events in the original film.
A note if you’re already a Disney+ subscriber: there’s nothing new to see here. If you’ve subscribed to Sky or Virgin, you’ll be familiar with the concept of some shows starting on pay TV, then becoming available on free TV later on. The ITVX-Disney+ deal is very much like that, but updated for a streaming era.
