Amazon Prime Video unveils game-changing Champions League coverage

Amazon is launching a new way to follow Champions League football this season, giving fans access to a multitude of data.

  • AI powered data feed available to viewers offering a wealth of stats
  • Gabby Logan joined by pundits Clarence Seedorf, Daniel Sturridge and Wayne Rooney.
  • Live Champions League Tuesday games included in Prime subscription.

Amazon’s Prime Video is once again preparing to break new ground with a new AI-powered alternative feed of its Tuesday night Champions League games.

While fans can still access a ‘traditional style’ feed via Prime Video fronted by Gabby Logan, the streamer is introducing a suite of cutting-edge broadcast enhancements that blend elite football with next-gen technology.

Named “Prime Vision”, an alternate feed inspired by a similar concept used NFL coverage with provide viewers with a world of live stats during each game.

The new feed makes its debut on Tuesday 16th September during coverage of Tottenham Hotspur vs. Villarreal.

So what can you expect from Prime Vision?

Prime Vision promises to bring fans closer to the tactical and analytical heartbeat of the game with the following features:

Tactical Map:

See the pitch like a coach. All 22 player positions are displayed in real-time, revealing team structures, defensive setups, and pressing strategies.

Momentum Bar:

A live AI-powered indicator shows which team is more likely to score in the next 10 seconds, based on possession, positioning, and chance creation.

Physical Insights:

Track player performance with metrics like sprint speed, jump height, shot velocity, and pass distance.

Advanced Analytics:

Dive into club-level data with stats like expected goals (xG), shot quality (xGOT), expected pass (xPass), and expected save (xSave).

Passing Options:

Predict the play before it happens. Prime Vision highlights the three most likely passing choices based on player orientation and field vision.

Player ID Overlay:

Never miss a name—especially handy when unfamiliar squads take the stage.

Coverage details


Logan is joined by pundits Clarence Seedorf, Daniel Sturridge and Wayne Rooney. Commentary is delivered by Jon Champion and Alan Shearer. Meanwhile, Gabriel Clarke and Alex Aljoe report from inside the stadiums.

UK viewers can stream the top Tuesday match each week at no extra cost with a Prime membership.
