Sky and the PGA Tour have extended their broadcast rights deal until the end of the decade in a move that will keep Sky Sports Golf as the exclusive home of all major golfing events.
The announcement follows a recent flurry of broadcast rights extensions that secures a pipeline of live coverage on the channel beyond the end of 2025.
WHAT’S INCLUDED?
Under the new agreement with the PGA Tour covering 2026-2029, Sky Sports will continue to exclusively broadcast all FedExCup regular season events.
This includes:
- THE PLAYERS Championship
- theFedExCup Playoffs
- TOUR Championship
- 2026 and 2028 Presidents Cup
The deal means Sky will hold exclusive rights to all of golf’s biggest international team competitions through to the end of the decade, alongside the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup.
This news from Sky follows recent confirmation that the broadcaster had secured the ongoing rights to show The Masters. Sky has also extended agreements with the Ladies European Tour, DP World Tour and USGA.
Record numbers of sports fans have watched golf on Sky Sports in 2025. The Masters and Ryder Cup helped to deliver the highest-ever viewing day and most-watched weekend, respectively, in Sky’s history.
Sky welcomes long-term rights deals
Securing the PGA Tour allows Sky to continue developing its golf offering. Losing the rights would have created large holes in its schedule.
How has Sky changed coverage of golf?
Recent innovations in Sky’s coverage include:
- 3D Augmented Reality technology,
- the Trackman Golf Simulator
- golf’s world-first Spidercam debut at The Open at Royal Portrush.
Jonathan Licht, Sky’s Chief Sports Officer, commented:
“This renewed partnership with the PGA TOUR reinforces our long-term commitment to bringing the very best live golf to customers year-round for at least the next four years. It adds to extensions of key partnerships this year, further strengthening our unrivalled golf offering. Alongside all the Majors, the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup, the PGA TOUR ensures Sky Sports remains the exclusive place for golf fans to enjoy the biggest moments throughout the year, delivered through our leading innovation and compelling storytelling.”
As part of the deal, the PGA Tour Studios will partner with Sky to provide direct access to Tour content. This includes additional camera feeds, remote replay capabilities and technical resources for each event. The collaboration extends to the PGA Tour’s new World Feed, where Sky talent will be featured throughout the Tour’s international broadcast in 2026.
