Roku launching UK streaming channel service

1 September 2025

You’ll soon be able to receive a wider range of streaming channels through a Roku TV or streaming device in the UK. First channels will launch in October.

  • 40 new channels coming to Roku UK platform
  • Follows successful launch of streaming channels on Roku in America.

The new UK line-up, which will be available on all new and existing Roku devices, will include 40 free, ad-supported streaming TV channels available at no extra cost.

Content promised for Roku users includes entertainment, lifestyle, true crime, classic TV, documentaries and more. Full details of the channel line-up will be announced ahead of the launch.

Once live, the channels will be available through The Roku Channel and new Live TV zone.

Roku’s been a bit behind other streaming platforms in terms of extra streaming channels. While Roku has a wide range of apps that do include embedded livestreams, it hasn’t had a service to rival Samsung TV Plus or LG Channels, at least not in the UK. Roku has already launched a suite of streaming channels for viewers in North and South America.

As is the case with streaming TV, it’s not just Roku users that will benefit. The new Roku streaming channels provide advertisers with a way to connect to viewers through personalised ads.

Richard Halton, Country Manager, Roku UK:

With the launch of our first FAST channels in the UK this October, we’re giving viewers more choice than ever before – from iconic series and films to new favourites and niche genres – all for free. It’s an exciting step forward as we continue to expand and open up new opportunities for advertisers to reach highly engaged audiences.
