Disney Jr moves to new slot on Sky Q

18 January 2026

Disney’s linear children’s channel, which is exclusive to Sky, is moving to a new slot on satellite this week.

Reshuffle follows changes to Sky’s children’s line-up
Disney pre-school channel will sit next door to Nick Jr Too putting Bluey next to Peppa Pig

Sky has announced a change to its satellite TV service this week, as it fills a gap created by the recent closure of children’s channel POP.

Disney Jr HD, a service for pre-school children which heavily features cult hit Bluey in its schedules will be on the move.

The channel (re-)launched exclusively on Sky’s TV platforms in October, in a major U-turn for the company, which previously pulled linear children’s TV services in favour of going streaming-only.

However, the closure of rival channel POP, plus its sister and timeshift channels on Sky at the end of 2025 has left empty slots on Sky’s TV guide.

As a result, Disney Jr HD moves from channel 625 to its new home of channel 613. The change will put the channel next to pre-school rival Nick Jr Too, perhaps known by parents for its periodic rebrands to an all-Peppa Pig channel.

The change will complete automatically during the Monday morning. Sky satellite receivers that don’t automatically update should be rebooted.

No changes on Sky Stream

There are no changes to Disney Jr HD on Sky Stream or Sky Glass. On these platforms, Sky already placed Disney Jr on a higher ranking slot when it launched in October, meaning it’s not affected by recent changes among children’s channels.

More children’s channel choice elsewhere…

Despite the return of Disney Jr to Sky, streaming-only platforms are gaining larger numbers of linear children’s channels. That’s despite the perception that children’s content is migrating solely to on-demand services.

Paramount-owned Pluto TV currently offers UK viewers 11 children’s channels. Samsung TV Plus has more children’s channels than Sky when you discount HD/SD duplicates. It offers 20 channels, including the two POP channel brands formerly on Sky.
