Of the eight games in the fifth round, the BBC will screen two games on consecutive nights, with the remaining games exclusive to TNT Sports – and Discovery+ for the last time.
- Fifth round line-up confirmed following Port Vale’s fourth round win on Tuesday night
- BBC to show Wrexham’s next game in the FA Cup across the UK
- Final round of FA Cup on Discovery+ before HBO Max launches
Tonight’s FA Cup win for Port Vale means the full set of fixtures for this weekend’s fifth round games is now confirmed. Port Vale finally beat Bristol City during extra time in a fourth round game originally postponed by a waterlogged pitch. Unfortunately, a free-to-air outing doesn’t come with the win; the BBC had already confirmed its FA Cup schedule for the coming weekend.
BBC One has cleared Friday evening’s schedules and moved the BBC’s News at Ten to screen live coverage of Wolverhampton Wanderers home game against Liverpool in the fifth round of the FA Cup. Coverage on the BBC starts at 19:45, kick-off at 20:00.
The BBC will also carry live coverage of Wrexham’s next game in the Cup, playing hosts to Chelsea for the free-to-air Saturday teatime game, with pre-match coverage starting at 17:30.

TNT Sports and Discovery+ will carry all remaining games, plus the two BBC fixtures on a non-exclusive basis. The fixture between West Ham United v Brentford looks set to be the last FA Cup game to be streamed by Discovery+. From 26 March, FA Cup and other live sports coverage from TNT Sports migrates to HBO Max.
All fifth round games will be televised for the first time this competition. That’s because there are no fixtures during the Saturday blackout period. And unlike in previous rounds, there’s no streaming-only games – all games are live on a linear channel as well as streaming.
Meanwhile, Port Vale will play Sunderland on TNT Sports 1 on Sunday afternoon.
