Freeview completes February update

Changes to Freeview channel line-up in parts of the UK, with the addition of an additional streaming channel.
19 February 2026

After last month’s major update to the Freeview channel line-up, a smaller update completed this week, with a secret change not publicised by Freeview.

Movie channel ends simulcast
Children’s streaming service departs Freeview

Streaming TV service operator wedotv, a Video Solutions brand, has launched its second standalone channel on the Freeview platform as part of the February 2026 Freeview channel update.

The monthly update reverted back to its usual third Wednesday of the month, following January’s update which was moved earlier in the month to accommodate changes to Warner Bros Discovery’s Freeview channels.

What’s changed this month?

Wedotv Big Stories – a free, ad-supported streaming (FAST) channel specialising in factual entertainment – is now streaming on Freeview channel 275 on all compatible devices.

Wedotv Big Stories operates 24/7, offering documentaries and reality series that cover topics like wilderness survival, true adventure, and investigative stories. The channel was briefly available three years ago via Freeview’s Channelbox portal on 271. This is the first time

The channel replaces Wedotv Movies on 275, ending a duplication of the movie channel, which had been broadcast on two different channel numbers.

Wedotv Movies continues exclusively on channel 98 in parts of the UK. It’s available as a traditional broadcast linear TV (non-streaming) channel.

Both Wedotv Movies (channel 98) and Wedotv Big Stories (channel 275) have limited UK coverage via Freeview, only available in areas currently or previously covered by a local TV service. As a result, some viewers will not see the channels in their line-up. However, Wedotv’s services are widely available on internet TV streaming platforms.

Freely users who have a device that works in hybrid mode (aerial+internet), may be able to access Wedotv Movies on channel 143 and Wedotv Big Stories on channel 589, subject to local digital terrestrial TV coverage.

YAAAS removed

Children’s streaming service YAAAS has been deleted from Freeview channel 211 (Freely 358). The channel continues elsewhere online, including via Samsung TV Plus.

Great! TV x 2

There’s also a secret change, which Freeview hasn’t publicised, affecting the classic entertainment channel Great! TV.

If you retune Freeview, you may find two copies of the channel in your line-up. The regular copy, on channel 34, continues as normal.

Additionally though, there’s a duplicate of the channel on 795. For now, viewers don’t need to take any further action. Behind the scenes though, this change is significant from a technical point of view, with a further digital multiplex now carrying more than 16 channels simultaneously.
