UPDATE | Sky has reshuffled several of its movie channels across satellite and streaming platforms in conjunction with the launch of Disney+ Cinema.
- Reshuffle postponed from last week.
- Sky Cinema Animation, Action, Family and Greats now on new channel numbers
- Movies 24 moves to new slot on satellite
Sky has completed a belated reshuffle of movie channels on Tuesday 17th March. The update was automatically pushed to receivers.
Sky originally notified subscribers that the change would happen on Thursday 12th March, with services moving in preparation for the arrival of Disney+ Cinema. It’s understood the delay allowed Sky extra time to complete work integrating Disney+ content on to its platforms.
On satellite (Sky Q and Sky+HD), Movies 24 has now moved to channel 315. Its sister channel Movies 24+ is now on 329, behind Talking Pictures.
The demotion creates room for Sky Cinema Animation to move to channel 312. Sky Cinema Action, Family and Greats all move to new channel numbers (full list below).
Disney+ Cinema takes Sky Cinema Animation’s old slot on channel 305. The channel is now available to all Sky Cinema subscribers using Sky’s satellite or streaming service. It also appears on Sky+HD receivers, for legacy subscribers, contrary to Sky’s own announcement.
On Sky Stream and Sky Glass, Sky Cinema Animation is now on channel 315. Movies 24 and Movies 24+ will remain in their current slots. Sky Cinema Action, Family and Greats move to new channel numbers, mirroring the satellite channel line-up.
