Following last month’s announcement, BritBox UK is now live on Amazon’s streaming service. Viewers can now sidestep Sky and Virgin.
A subscription for the best-of-British box set service, with programmes from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5, can now be added by Amazon customers.
Importantly, the arrival of BritBox UK opens up a way for Sky and Virgin Media users to access the service. They can now access the service through the Amazon Prime Video app. Previous discussions with Sky and Virgin Media to bring BritBox UK directly to viewers fell through.
Back in March, BritBox confirmed the move would bring the service to 90% of homes with video-on-demand services.
How to access BritBox UK on Amazon Prime Video
BritBox is available via the Prime Video app to watch anytime, anywhere on smart TVs, mobile devices, andĀ game consoles, or atĀ Amazon.co.uk/channels.
This means that viewers who subscribe to BritBox UK through Amazon Channels will be able to manage their subscription through their Amazon Prime account. It reduces the number of different login details that would normally be required for each service, if accessed separately.
BritBox UK on Amazon Prime Video Channels will be available on a monthly basis, with the option to cancel anytime.
