BT confirms its subscribers can see Serie A football on its channels until 2024. It will help make up for the loss of Bundesliga rights, which switch to Sky Sports this season.
The new rights deal covering Italy’s top football league kicks off on 21st August 2021. Every match will be broadcast by BT Sport, with at least five per round broadcast live. In total, BT Sport will show 200 matches per season over the next three years.
In addition to match coverage, BT Sport will host a weekend Serie A highlights show presented by James Richardson.
This season, BT Sport’s European football coverage includes:
- UEFA Champions League,
- UEFA Europa League,
- UEFA Europa Conference League,
- Ligue 1 (France),
- Serie A (Italy).
Rachel Knight, BT Sport’s Sports Rights Director, commented:
“We want to provide our customers with the best sport from across the world and the addition of Serie A means viewers will get to follow some of the biggest stars, managers and clubs in world football. European football has always been an important part of our line-up, with Serie A now joining our exclusive coverage of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League, alongside France’s Ligue 1.”
