Viewers in the Hartlepool and Redcar area can now receive a limited Freeview service, but will need to retune to temporary frequencies.
It follows the major fire at the Bilsdale transmitter, which knocked out TV and radio across North Yorkshire, Teesside and small pockets of County Durham and West Yorkshire.
Engineers have reconfigured the Eston Nab relay, which lost its feed from Bilsdale on Tuesday. Services are being broadcast on alternative frequencies, so viewers in that area only will need to retune to restore services.

Viewers in other areas affected by the Bilsdale blackout should not retune unless they are advised to by Freeview.
Elsewhere, engineers have been working to restore Freeview on some of Bilsdale’s other relays in the area, by switching to a satellite back-up. For example, viewers receiving a signal from Whitby Business Park will be able to watch Freeview, but without the correct regional service. This is made possible by a back-up satellite signal via the Intelsat satellite, which is frequently used by relays in more remote parts of the UK, including the Scottish highlands and islands.
A temporary mast relaying BBC Radio Tees on FM has now also gone live, but with reduced coverage from Eston Nab.
