GB News has confirmed it has been allocated a Freesat channel number, as preparations are underway to launch the service in HD on cable and satellite.
The channel will appear on Freesat channel 216 when it launches, behind all existing news channels already listed on Freesat.
Sky and Virgin Media channel numbers will be confirmed closer to the launch date. A placeholder for GB News is now available on Freeview channel 236. This is giving viewers a chance to tune in the channel before its launch date.
Sky, Freesat and Virgin Media will only add GB News to their channel list just before the launch moment. This is also the case with other new channel launches.
Cable and satellite viewers will be able to watch GB News in HD. On Freeview, insufficient capacity for new HD channels means the service will be standard definition only.
