Freeview channel CCXTV will cease broadcasting after the end of the month, with new owners UKTV adding a timeshift channel in its place.
Drama+1 will take over Freeview channel 73 from Monday 1st February 2021, offering another chance to catch programmes shown on Freeview channel 20.
The change is being communicated to viewers via an on-screen pop-up message.
Launched last year by the owners of the Ideal World home shopping channel, CCXTV took over Create & Craft’s previous slot, offering a quirky mix of UK and US dramas, comedies and soaps. In October, the channel was sold to UKTV.
Under Freeview channel allocation rules, UKTV was then able to swap CCXTV with its own Dave Ja Vu channel, moving CCXTV down to channel 73.
The change is bad news for fans of the US soap The Bold and The Beautiful. Its last episode will be broadcast on CCXTV on Friday 29th January 2021 at 6:30pm, concluding yet another attempt for the soap to establish a regular free-to-air TV slot in the UK.
CCXTV was never made available on other TV platforms.
