Rakuten TV is strengthening its ongoing partnership with Samsung with the arrival of over 20 channels on the TV Plus service across Europe.
By the end of May, Rakuten TV will roll out a total of 166 new channels in 16 markets through TV Plus. Rakuten TV offers its own services, plus third-party channels including CNN HD via Samsung TV Plus.
The roll-out started this week with the launch of new channels in Denmark, Finland and Norway. TV Plus users in Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal and Ireland will get the new services during May. The first Rakuten TV channels have meanwhile arrived on TV Plus in Sweden and the Netherlands, with seven channels to start off with.
In the UK, where Rakuten TV is already present on TV Plus, with channels including ction Movies, Spotlight and VENN, it has added the Family channel to TV Plus in the past seven days.
TV Plus is available on Samsung Smart TV models from 2016 onwards in the UK, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and on Samsung Smart TV devices from 2017 onwards in other countries.
The service is now also available on all the latest Samsung Galaxy smartphones via the TV Plus app.
