An average of 1.2 million viewers tuned into Sky Sports channels last Sunday, giving the service its highest viewing figures since its launch over 30 years ago.
Live Premier League, F1 and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup contributed to viewers flocking to Sky Sports on Sunday 24th October, with an average of 1.2 million tuning in between 6am and 2am [Monday]. Overall audience reach exceeded 8 million.
Manchester United v Liverpool and India v Pakistan draw viewers
Numbers peaked at 4.5m viewers at 5:50pm, when Sky Sports was showing live coverage of Manchester United v Liverpool and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match between India vs Pakistan.
After 8pm, viewers tuned in for coverage of the F1 USA Grand Prix, keeping average audiences above 1 million.
Other viewing peaks were recorded during coverage of West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League. Sunday’s football offering also included live matches from the Scottish Premiership with St Mirren vs Rangers and Bundesliga with FC Köln vs Bayer Leverkusen.
Sky Sports Cricket aired the live ICC T20 Men’s World Cup starting with Sri Lanka v Bangladesh and finishing with vs India v Pakistan. Alongside this Sky Sports Mix aired the Women’s Big Bash League.
Sky Sports NFL featured the live fixtures from week 7 on Sky Sports NFL with Cincinnati Bengals vs Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts vs San Francisco 49ers.
