Local TV operator’s national channel featuring music and entertainment from the 70s and 80s joins the Freesat channel line up this week.
That’s TV Gold is now available on Freesat channel 178. The channel’s current programme line-up features vintage comedy heroes such as The Tommy Cooper Show, The Kenny Everett Show and The Mike Yarwood Show.
Coming this autumn, the channel’s schedule will be expanded to include classic sitcoms like Tripper’s Day, Howard Confessions and All in Good Faith. At other times, That’s TV Gold features music from previous decades, with dedicated strands for 1970s and 1980s music.
That’s TV Gold is already available on Freeview channel 91 (in some areas only), as well as through Vision TV (Freeview 264) and via Sky channel 187. The channel was developed as the national sustaining service for local TV chain That’s TV. Its local channels broadcast in 20 locations across the UK on either Freeview channel 7 or 8.
The main difference between That’s TV Local and That’s TV Gold is that the local service carries a 10 minute news bulletin at 6pm. Local news is then repeated from 3am. During some music video strands, local information is shown around the edge of the screen. This counts towards That’s TV local programme commitments.
