Sky version of the teleshopping channel is now live in high definition for the first time.
TJC – formerly known as The Jewellery Channel – is now available free-to-air on satellite in HD. On Sky, TJC HD is now available on channel 662. The SD version moves to channel 896.
The channel first experimented with HD broadcasts on Freeview between November 2019 and June 2020. Following a reshuffle on Freeview after multiplex COM8 was closed, TJC continues on Freeview in standard definition only on channel 50 and in some areas via local TV channels.
TJC HD’s launch on Sky follows a period of testing on the Astra 2G satellite, where the channel has taken bandwidth previously used by Brazilian channel Record TV. Record TV withdrew from Sky at the end of 2020.
