The Arabic version of Al Jazeera will cease broadcasts on Astra 1L at the end of February, concentrating on distribution via Hot Bird.
From 1st March 2022, the channel’s main distribution for Europe will be via the Eutelsat Hot Bird satellite. The feed also supplies cable and IPTV operators in Europe.
The Qatar-based broadcaster already transmits an HD version of Al Jazeera Arabic at this orbital position.
For viewers unable to make the switch to Hot Bird, the broadcaster recommends the Al Jazeera live stream on Aljazeera.net or its YouTube channel: Al Jazeera Arabic Live.
Distribution of the English language version of Al Jazeera on Astra 19.2°E is unaffected. Last year, Al Jazeera English transition to HD only distribution.
