Users have reported problems trying to stream anything from the BBC iPlayer on their Amazon Fire TV device.
For the past few days, playback of programmes on the BBC iPlayer is suffering from frequent pauses and buffering. Unlike other instances of buffering, this continues even on a good quality internet connection.
The BBC confirms it is investigating the source of the problem. In the meantime, it’s suggested a workaround that users should take for the time being:
- Exit the BBC iPlayer by pressing back on the remote
- Open the BBC iPlayer again from the home screen
- Select a programme or channel to watch
However, if the Amazon Fire TV device is turned off, the fault will reoccur. Users will need to repeat the above steps.
At this stage, it’s unclear where the fault lies.
