The BBC has had to remove access to iPlayer UHD content on some smart TVs while their manufacturer works on a fix to resolve problems.
A number of 2019 smart TV models made by Vestel under various brand names including Toshiba, Panasonic, Medion and Hitachi are affected.
Problems with using the BBC iPlayer UHD streams on these devices resulted in the broadcaster pulling access to allow Vestel to find a fix. The BBC says it’s now waiting for a fix to be rolled out so UHD access can be restored.
In the meantime, users of the affected devices can continue to access BBC iPlayer content in HD instead.
