An update is now available to fix problems with the BBC iPlayer app on Xbox Series X. But problems with live streams on certain Philips smart TVs continue.
The BBC today confirmed it has completed its investigation into problems affecting Xbox Series X. The problems included streaming issues and app crashes. With the release of an app update, the BBC says it “believes all affected devices should now be working as expected.”
However, there’s no such luck for users of a range of Philips Smart TV models. A technical issue means users can’t access live streams of BBC channels. The problem is under investigation by the BBC and Philips. The BBC indicated a future firmware update from the manufacturer may resolve the problem.
In the meantime, on-demand streams continue to be available, and users wanting to watch live streams are being invited to do through other devices.
However, all affected Philips TV models are equipped with a Freeview (DVB-T/T2) tuner, meaning users can always watch live BBC channels via the main TV channel list.
