Fans of music from bygone decades can now access the free-to-air Classic Hits channel on Freesat.
Classic Hits went live on Monday afternoon on Freesat channel 506, giving viewers access to hits from the 60, 70s, 80s and 90s. The channel broadcasts different strands of music videos throughout the day, with dedicated hours to different decades or types of music.
This is now the third platform Classic Hits is carried on, following on from its launch on Sky and Freeview. But Freeview’s availability is limited to overnights only, except for viewers in Manchester.
The channel originally launched as That’s Music, a spin-off from local TV operator That’s TV. It was rebranded Classic Hits at the end of June.
The arrival of the Classic Hits channel comes a year after Freesat gained five music channels from Channel 4. Freesat now offers six music TV channels.
