A last minute deal with rights holders DAZN allowed viewers across the UK to watch the game live on ITV4.
Despite the short notice, UEFA Women’s Champions League Final on Saturday between Barcelona and Lyon was watched by a peak of 372,000 on ITV4.
The game was also made available to stream through the ITV Hub.
Coverage of the match, which took place at the Juventus Stadium in Turin between Barcelona and Lyon, was presented by Mark Pougatch with insight and analysis from former England internationals, Rachel Yankey and Anita Asante.
The game was also available online through DAZN UK, who took over from BT Sport as UK rights holder.
In comparison, coverage of the Women’s Super League on Sky Sports has been averaging 120,000 viewers per game. The highpoint came during coverage of Manchester City v Tottenham in September, when 550,000 viewers tuned in. Free-to-air BBC One coverage of the WSL game between Manchester City and Manchester United in October attracted 1.1 million viewers.

The Men’s Champions League final this weekend will be made available to watch for free on BT Sport‘s website, app and YouTube channel.
