Samsung’s own TV platform, available on compatible Samsung Smart TVs, tablets and smartphones welcomes channels dedicated to Jamie Oliver and Come Dine With Me, plus its own festive hub.
These new channels are part of a series of new partnerships struck between Samsung and TV production companies, giving 24/7 access to even more popular content and British TV classics.
Samsung is currently in a global push to add more premium content to its TV Plus platform, launching new channels and updating the look and feel of the TV Plus.
New channels
So far in the past month, TV Plus has added these five channels:
The Jamie Oliver Channel (Samsung TV Plus channel 4425) – the home of wall-to-wall cookery from the famous Chef, with programmes including Jamie and Jimmy’s Food Fight.
Come Dine with Me (channel 4110) accesses the daytime show’s rich archive. Come Dine with Me first launched on Channel 4 in 2005 and has since become a staple of British TV. Produced by ITV Studios, the Come Dine with Me channel is a result of a partnership between ITV Studios and Samsung.
Rakuten TV Top Movies (channel 4994) adds to the number of Rakuten TV channels now available to stream directly through TV Plus.
Festive Hub (channel 4009) is Samsung’s dedicated Christmas channel, launched as a one-stop channel for this festive season’s famous movies, from British Christmas classics, to family-friendly comedies, to the best Christmas recipes and cooking tips.
Some of the films on offer include A Christmas Gift From Bob, Dear Secret Santa, I’m Not Ready for Christmas, from production house, Lionsgate. In addition, the channel will also include some of the best Christmas recipes from Jamie Oliver.
Haunt TV (channel 4215) has joined TV Plus ahead of Halloween with a menu of scary programmes.
As reported in September, Samsung TV Plus has also recently added a number of other channels to the platform, including Horizons, a new channel by Banijay Rights, featuring the likes of Location, Location, Location. There’s also Great British Menu, with back-to-back episodes in partnership with All3Media. NOW 80s is also available on TV Plus.
Samsung TV Plus availability
TV Plus is a free, ad-supported service. It is automatically installed on all recent Samsung Smart TVs and users can find its channels above channel 4000. Samsung TV Plus is also available on recent Galaxy devices with Android 8.0 or higher.
The aforementioned channels refer to the TV Plus line-up in the UK only.
