Users of Sky’s internet based TV platform, which powers Sky Stream and Sky Glass, can now receive up to 12 news channels, with the arrival of France 24 English.
France 24 English is available in HD by default on Sky Stream/Sky Glass channel 512 in the UK and channel 510 in the Republic of Ireland. The channel broadcasts live 24/7 from its studios in Paris, with regular news, sport, business and weather updates, plus extended reports and features.
Sky’s internet TV service has traditionally offered fewer channels when compared to Sky satellite, but the addition of France 24 reduces the difference in the news section.
In the UK, there are now 12 news channels on Sky Stream/Sky Glass, compared to 19 via satellite. In the Republic of Ireland, viewers have access to 10 news channels on the platform. Channels including Al Jazeera, NHK World and TRT World are still absent from Sky’s internet TV service.
