Following the phenomenal success of Women’s Football in the past 12 month, Sky wants to make its coverage more accessible.
Last season, the Women’s Super League viewing figures increased 171% versus the 2020-21 season.
This season, Sky will make 35 WSL games available to all subscribers through Sky Showcase. Coverage will also be available on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Football.
2022-23 WSL coverage starts on Saturday 10th September with Tottenham Hotspur taking on Manchester United at 12:30pm. Sky Sports will be live from 11:30.
Kelly Smith MBE, known for her leading spells at Arsenal and as England Women’s all-time record goal scorer is joining the Sky Sports team to offer her insight alongside Sue Smith and others.
Sky Sports WSL TikTok
New to the 2022/23 season, the Sky Sports WSL TikTok account will be giving fans 360° coverage of the league and granting them exclusive access to their new favourite players. Through fun challenges and interviews, along with behind-the-scenes footage, viewers will get to know the WSL’s array of personalities and see the sport from a new set of angles.
Snapchat coverage
Also a first for the league, a new Snapchat Discover show The Dub aims to become the platform’s new hub for Barclay’s WSL content. Discussing the biggest news and breaking down the action, The Dub will deliver Snapchat users their weekly fix of the WSL and an opportunity to join the conversation.
Coverage of European Women’s Football
Sky Sports will continue to broadcast the Women’s European Domestic League this year showing games from Division Féminine and Frauen-Bundesliga.
In the next fixture, Stade de Reims v Olympique Lyonnais will go head-to-head on Sunday 11th September at 11.45am.
The game will be shown on after the conclusion of the WSL game at 9:30pm.
