Changes to the way some BBC services are distributed on Virgin Media has resulted in some viewers losing BBC One HD.
A configuration change took place last week affecting BBC One HD in England. This led to subscribers using Virgin TV 360 boxes needing to reset series links. In the background, BBC One HD has been linked to new service IDs in preparation for the roll-out of regional versions of the channel coming soon.
The switch completed in the last 24 hours, with the old Service ID deactivated. Since completion, a number of Virgin Media subscribers report issues with receiving BBC One HD in England. Some initially lost sound, although that has now been restored. Others are still without BBC One HD, after their receiver failed to recognise the change in Service ID. Virgin Media is understood to be looking into the issue.
Other technical changes to prepare for the arrival of BBC Three on the platform have also been completed. The channel will be available in HD only on Virgin Media. BBC Three HD will launch at 7pm on 1st February 2022. Details of changes to the channel guide to accommodate BBC Three HD are due to be released shortly.
Update 20/01/2022 10:51: Virgin Media has resolved the issue that caused some viewers to lose access to BBC One HD in England.
