Classic quiz channel Challenge is to make its debut on Ireland’s free-to-air terrestrial TV platform.
The home of quiz and game shows including Bullseye, The Chase and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire will launch on 1st February, in a surprise addition to Saorview.
Challenge launches on Saorview channel 8, with an on-screen caption now showing in advance of the launch. It will use capacity on Saorview multiplex 2, where technical adjustments took place last week to allow the extra service to be added.
The channel, which is owned by Sky, first launched as a pay TV satellite channel in the 1990s. Since 2011, Challenge has been available on the UK’s Freeview terrestrial TV service. In 2021, Sky launched Sky News on Saorview.
