Technical work means viewers in many parts of northern England will see a combined news output on BBC One this weekend.
Look North’s editions for Yorkshire (Leeds) and the North East & Cumbria (Newcastle) will be combined on Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning. The BBC says its local news teams will “do their best” to cover major news stories from across the combined region during this time.
Both regions were previously combined for the weekend of 28th and 29th January, also due to technical work.
However, each region will continue to receive their own Sunday morning political programmes: these are typically pre-recorded.
Technical work at a number of BBC regional news centres as a result of a number of projects has in recent weeks resulted in programmes coming from temporary studios or being combined with neighbouring regions. Earlier this week, many regional news programmes were cancelled as a result of industrial action.
