ITV1 and ITVX to broadcast 2023 Community Shield

19 June 2023

ITV will broadcast 2023 FA Community Shield fixture between Manchester City and Arsenal from Wembley live on Sunday 6th August.

The traditional curtain-raiser to the new football season returns to the home of English football for its 100th anniversary after last year’s match was played at Leicester due to a clash with the UEFA Women’s EURO Final.

Normally, the FA Community Shield features the winner of the Premier League versus the winner of the FA Cup Final. As Manchester City won both last season, the league runners up – in this case Arsenal – get to be the opponent. However, some Manchester City fans say they’ll boycott the game due to the “atrocious” kick-off time.

The game kicks off at 17:30 on 6th August. Coverage will air on ITV1 and ITVX across most of the UK. In Central and Northern Scotland, viewers will be able to watch on STV and STV Player.
