That’s 80s, Britain’s third channel dedicated to 1980s music videos goes live on Sky on Monday.
The channel was created after the former Classic Hits music channel was effectively split into different decades services at the beginning of the month.
That’s TV, which started as a local TV operator, is behind the new channel, which joins That’s 60s on Sky.
From Monday 16th January 2023, That’s 80s will be available on Sky channel 366, while sister channel That’s 60s moves to 365.
On Freeview, That’s 80s is only available as a limited hours, limited coverage service on Freeview. The channel is not currently available on other platforms, although Freesat viewers can access sister channel That’s 60s.
That’s 80s will go head to head with the long-established NOW 80s channel and pay TV service MTV 80s as music channel operators target older viewers still used to watching music videos on the TV.
Traditional music channels have struggled in recent years to maintain younger viewers, who can stream their favourite music videos on a variety of platforms.
