In the latest update to Entertainment OS, the operating system used by Sky Glass and Sky Stream, new personalised playlists and Bluetooth features are incoming.
The update (1.1) is being rolled out and will be available to all customers by 4th February.
For Sky Glass users, the update makes it possible to listen via your Bluetooth headphones at the same time as Sky Glass’ speakers are playing.
That means hard of hearing customers can listen with their Bluetooth headphones at the same time as the rest of household is watching and listening via the Sky Glass speakers
Other new developments include:
Personalised Playlists
With ‘Playlist’ you can create a list of everything you want to watch from the TV guide, on-demand and apps, to enjoy whenever you’re ready, simply by pressing the ‘+’ button on your remote.
With ‘Personalised Playlist’, you can create up to five unique playlists – e.g. one for each member of the household. This means you’ll be able to store children’s favourites in one list, and something for the grown ups in its own playlist.
Jump back in, faster
Sky adds a new ‘Play’ voice command. For example, if you’re a Love Island fan and were to say “Play Love Island” , the system would pick up exactly where you left off.
Starring a new Cast & Crew rail
Just watched a movie with an actor or director you like and want to see more of their work?
The new Cast and Crew rail on Show Pages allows viewers to find other titles they’ve been involved in. Simply select someone from the rail, and see everything they’ve been a part of that is available on the platform.
