New POP children’s streaming channels to launch

6 September 2023

Viewers with selected smart TVs and boxes will be able to access two new children’s streaming channels from 13th September.

  • Narrative Entertainment, who own the POP children’s channel will launch streaming versions of POP and Tiny POP on Samsung TV Plus and Netgem TV.
  • POP will replace the existing POP Kids streaming (aka ‘FAST’) channel, also on LG, Hisense and Rakuten TV platforms.

The UK’s largest independent TV broadcaster, Narrative Entertainment, will launch POP and Tiny Pop FAST channels on Samsung+ and Netgem from Wednesday 13th September 2023. The channels will replace the current POP Kids FAST channel, which will also be rebranded to POP on LG, Hisense and Rakuten.

These ad-supported free live channels extend the offering of the POP network by providing children and families with another place to watch new and exciting animated and live action kids content for free, with just an internet connection.

Samsung TV Plus is available on all newer Samsung TVs, plus mobile and tablets. LG and Hisense’s streaming TV offer is also included by default on all newer TVs. Rakuten TV is available across a variety of connected devices, including mobiles and tablets.

Tiny Pop

Tiny Pop offers kids aged 4-6 programmes full of fun, imagination and creativity, brought together by unforgettable characters. Alongside Hello Kitty: Super Style! and Masha and the Bear, fun favourites Gigantosaurus, Simon and Dino Ranch will join the line-up on the new channel.

POP

POP offers kids from 6-10 a vibrant mix of exciting adventures and laugh-out-loud comedy, brought together by unforgettable characters. In September, LEGO Dreamzzz and Total Dramarama join Miraculous and Dragon Ball Super on the streaming channel line-up.

[Narrative Entertainment also produces a version of both channels on traditional TV platforms, including Sky and Freeview.]

Corporate comment

Francesca Newington, Director, POP Channels, says,

“We’re excited to be rebranding and expanding our FAST channels to provide families with even more fantastic content for free via FAST TV.  At POP we are constantly exploring ways to share our brilliant selection of content with new viewers, and the FAST platform enables us to further amplify our brands and extend our reach to new audiences in the free space”.
