Sky News is the latest TV news channel to launch an audio feed. Unlike its rivals, the feed won’t be available on DAB digital radio.
Instead, Sky News audio is now available on TuneIn – the global live-streaming audio platform – in the UK, Ireland and the USA.
The partnership means Sky News’ award-winning non-stop news coverage is now accessible to audiences when they’re not in front of a screen and bolsters Sky News’ existing audio offering that includes podcasts, on-demand bulletins for smart speakers and news content for commercial radio stations.
▶ How to listen to Sky News audio
- On the TuneIn app for mobiles,
- Via web browser at https://news.sky.com/audio,
- Through Connected devices such as Alexa, Sonos, Google Home
- In any car model compatible with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The voice command is “Play Sky News on TuneIn”.
Rivals GB News and TalkTV also offer audio feeds of their channels. GB News set up a DAB digital radio station to carry its feed. Meanwhile, TalkTV grew out of TalkRadio, also available on DAB and online.
The new service is not to be confused with Sky News Radio, which is a service that supplies news bulletins to commercial radio stations.
