Channel 4 has apologised for the loss of three of its most popular Friday night programmes from its streaming service, due to technical problems.
The Last Leg, Gogglebox and Channel 4 News were absent from the on-demand library of Channel 4 (formerly known as All 4).
In a break from the usual advice to stream online, Channel 4 referred viewers back to its linear service, where Channel 4+1 provided the only catch-up option for the affected programmes.
Channel 4 assured viewers it was “working hard” to fix the problem and anticipated normal service would resume on Saturday. The broadcaster did not specify the exact nature of the technical problem.
This is the latest issue to hit Channel 4, although significantly less severe than its prolonged troubles in autumn 2021, when an incident at its playout centre left the broadcaster unable to upload shows on-demand and barely maintain a basic service on its live channels.
