TNT Sports: Premium Discovery+ access coming to Sky

18 July 2023

Existing BT Sport subscribers will automatically rollover to TNT Sports. But there are new ways to watch, while the old BT Sport app will continue to work until later this year.

Access to TNT Sports for existing BT Sport customers via BT TV, Sky, and Virgin Media will automatically commence from today. On Sky satellite, TNT Sports 1 and 2 move to channel 410 and 411, with Eurosport 1 and 2 moving to channels 413 and 414.

TNT Sports is available for £29.99 a month directly through Discovery+ in the UK only via the new Discovery+ Premium pack. Prices through other platforms in the UK and Ireland is set by the relevant provider. Sky subscribers with the TNT Sports add-on will soon gain access to Discovery+ Premium, as part of a wider rollout of the premium tier.

Scroll down for a full overview of all the ways you can watch TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland, plus details of Discovery+ Premium.

On Sky satellite you’ll see the channels in HD if you have the relevant subscription and receiver, otherwise the channels will appear in SD. For Sky Glass, Sky Stream, Virgin Media and Vodafone Ireland users, the channels default to HD. On BT, there is no HD substitution, meaning the HD channels are further down the channel list.

In addition to the main four TNT Sports channels listed above, subscribers can access up to six digital or red-button channels (TNT Sports 5 to 10), TNT Sports Ultimate (UHD) and TNT Sports Box Office HD.

The red button channels and TNT Sports Box Office are only available in the Republic of Ireland through Sky.

▶ Watching TNT Sports through the BT Sport App

  • Customers who have access to the BT Sport App can continue enjoying TNT Sports via that app until it shuts down later this year.
  • Eligible customers will also be directed to a simple discovery+ authentication process and can then download the discovery+ app which will give them access to TNT Sports, Eurosport and original entertainment.

▶ Watching TNT Sports via Discovery+

  • Access to TNT Sports via Discovery+ is currently only available in the UK, not Ireland.

To get TNT Sports on Discovery+, you’ll need to select the new Premium Plan (£29.99 a month). This will give you access to all TNT Sports channels, plus Eurosport and all Discovery entertainment/factual channels, both live and on-demand.

If you are a BT or EE customer with an active TNT Sports subscription, you’ll now be able access to discovery+ Premium via mobiles, tablets and connected devices. These include compatible smart TVs and games consoles. Discovery+ account creation is required. For more details, see the Discovery+ Help Guide.

BT TV customers will soon be able to access Premium Discovery+ through their BT TV box. However, this functionality is not yet available.

Discovery+ Compatible devices

Anyone with a discovery+ subscription can access the service via most smartphones, tablets, desktop browsers, and connected devices, including:

  • Android TV,
  • Apple TV,
  • Fire TVs,
  • LG Smart TVs,
  • NOW,
  • PlayStation 4 & 5,
  • Roku,
  • Samsung Smart TVs,
  • Xbox.
Access to the Discovery+ Premium Plan on Sky (UK)

At the moment, Discovery+ excluding TNT Sports is available at no extra cost to most Sky users.

Discovery+ Premium, with TNT Sports, will become available in the near future at no extra cost to Sky Glass, Sky Stream and Sky Q users who already have added TNT Sports to their Sky subscription.

Viewers who don’t add TNT Sports will continue to have ‘basic’ access to Discovery+.

Warner Bros Discovery was unable to confirm the exact date for this change.
