Viewers browsing the remaining music channels on Sky or Virgin Media may encounter something unexpected after a channel was replaced by one showing documentaries for most of the day.
- 1960s music channel That’s 60s replaced by That’s Memories on Sky channel 365
- The new channel’s schedule includes military history documentaries, plus celebrity biographies
- Channel also available on Freeview, Freely and Virgin Media.
Viewers channel hoping for some musical nostalgia may be in for a surprise. Among Sky’s music channels is a new service that screens documentaries about World War II, the occasional true crime documentary and, more appropriate for the music section, biographies featuring Elvis, The Kinks, The Beatles and more.
That’s Memories, a new service from That’s Media, has taken over from That’s 60s on Sky channel 365 this week. The free-to-air channel is also live on Freeview, Freely (Aerial) and Virgin Media (see below). As with That’s Media’s other channels, That’s Memories delves the archives. The current schedule includes Michael Aspel’s WW2, Secrets of WW2, Concise History of WWII and Elvis: the Last 24 hours.
Music from the 1960s continues to be included through the morning and lunchtime period.
With around six hours of music programming per day, That’s Memories currently has less music than sister channel That’s TV2, which sits in the Entertainment section of Sky’s Electronic Programme Guide.
Availability on other TV services
- That’s Memories is now live on Freeview channel 71. As a new entry to the TV guide, some viewers may need to retune to add the channel. Some older Freeview devices may add the channel to the bottom of the channel list until a factory reset + rescan is completed.
- Freely can access That’s Memories on channel 42. Your TV will need to be connected to a TV aerial to receive this channel.
- Virgin Media is also offering the channel on 296, albeit at the time of publication still labelled That’s 60s.
- You can’t access this channel through Sky Glass/Sky Stream or Freesat. EE TV users will need to have their receivers set to aerial mode to watch via channel 71.
