TNT Sports retains Premiership Rugby TV rights

21 March 2024

TNT Sports and Discovery+ subscribers will continue to be able to watch live Gallagher Premiership Rugby following a renewal of the UK and Ireland broadcasting rights.

  • Commitment to show more matches on TV than ever before
  • All 93 games to be available on TNT Sports and Discovery+.

For the first time, Rugby fans will be able to watch every game of the 2024-25 Premiership Rugby season in one place. All 93 matches – including the Gallagher Premiership Rugby Play-Offs and Final – will be shown by the Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) controlled TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland.

UK viewers will also be able to stream coverage through Discovery+, where TNT Sports content is available through the Discovery+ Premium tier.

TNT Sports, and its predecessor BT Sport have screened live Premiership Rugby coverage for the last decade. Both WBD and Premiership Rugby are understood to have been pleased with the performance of live Premiership Rugby coverage this season, with viewing figures on the rise.

As part of the deal, TNT Sports will also continue to broadcast select games from the Premiership Rugby Cup during the 2024-25 season.

Corporate comment

Andrew Georgiou, President and MD, UK & Ireland and WBD Sports Europe, said:

“Our new agreement with Premiership Rugby means that, for the very first time, fans will be able to enjoy every single match live throughout the season in one place. TNT Sports and its streaming home discovery+ will be the perfect companion for everyone looking to enjoy immersive rugby coverage alongside outstanding content that will bring fans even closer to the sport. With every game live, we can provide an even greater stage for the game, its clubs and the players. We have been broadcasting Premiership Rugby to millions of fans for more than a decade and are excited by the opportunity to go even further through our live broadcasts, programming and extensive coverage across social and digital platforms.”
