Trucking and royalty fans catered for in latest Samsung TV Plus update

13 March 2024

Samsung adds three new channels to its UK streaming line-up, available on Samsung TVs, smartphones and tablets.

  • Cult factual Highway Thru Hell gets its own streaming channel.
  • New 24/7 channel dedicated to royalty makes its debut.

Highway Thru Hell, the long-running Canadian factual series following the operations of a heavy vehicle rescue and recovery towing company operating in an area known for its accidents and wild weather changes, has been given its own streaming slot on Samsung TV Plus.

Viewers can dip in anytime for free on channel 4128.

Fans of royality, not just the British Royals, can look forward to ‘Royalworld’, new on channel 4418. The channel showcases back-to-back royal documentaries, featuring royal families from around the world.

Meanwhile, younger children now have access to a 24/7 Care Bears channel on 4611. The channel joins 17 other children’s channels, with the platform already catering for fans of Lego, Teletubbies, Transformers, The Smurfs and The Beano.

About Samsung TV Plus

Samsung TV Plus is built in to all newer Samsung Smart TVs, smartphones and tablets. A Samsung account is required to access the service.

The channels are streamed, meaning viewers don’t need an aerial or a dish to access them. The service contains a wide range of niche channels. Last month, the platform added a channel dedicated to episodes of The Graham Norton Show.

But recently, it has begun to attract some major players. Last year, Sky added Sky Mix and Challenge to the platform. CNN, NBC and UKTV all offer services on the platform.

On TVs, TV Plus channels are available above channel 4000 in the channel list. The range below 4000 is reserved for locally received broadcast channels, such as Freeview in the UK.

Services are offered in HD (or upscaled). However, picture quality is determined by internet connection speeds.
